When it comes to tablets, there’s typically a few sizes to choose from: 7 inches, 8.9 inches, 9.7 inches, and 10.1 inches. On the latter end of the spectrum, a 10.1 inch tablet is big enough for most people and going above and beyond that might be overkill.
Well, Archos doesn’t believe tablets should stop at 10 inches which is why they’ll soon be launching the Arnova FamilyPad, a 13 inch Android tablet. Why 13 inches? We don’t know, but the idea is for multiple people to share it and be able to watch videos and consume content on a much larger screen.
The tablet is scheduled to launch in the next month or two and although pricing hasn’t been released yet, it’s anticipated the FamilyPad will clock in around $300. For such a a large tablet, what kind of specs do you get?

- 1GHZ Allwinner A10 ARM Cortex-A8 single-core processor
- Mali-400 MP GPU
- 1GB RAM
- Rear-facing and front-facing 2 megapixel cameras

- 8-10 hours for watching video, 5-6 hours of browsing the web
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
