We knew that Sony would have a couple of mid range devices for us this year. We also knew the names of these devices, the Xperia SP and the Xperia L respectively, Hell we have even had some informationleaked about these devices in dribs and drabs the past few weeks like device manufacturers do. What we never got was a formal announcement or availability even with the Industry’s biggest trade show of the year, Mobile World Congress, happening not too long ago.
As is the case with these things sometimes, it’s the retailers who will actually be selling these handsets that out the devices even before the manufacturer does. So now according to a bunch of sites we know that these two phones are coming to the United Kingdom at least, and very soon.
There are four British retailers in total that have the smartphones listed and while the availability and pricing have some conflicting information, they are there nonetheless. As of this writing both Amazon and eBuyer have placeholder pages while LambdaTek and Micro Aid have some more details. The first retailer, LambdaTek, has the Xperia L (C2015 or TaoShan) listed for €219.80 (US $330) and the Xperia SP (C5303 or HuaShan ) for €312.98 (US $470), with the stock to be in house by March 19th. Irish retailer Micro Aid on the other hand has a little different information. They plan on having the devices ready to go tomorrow (March 12) with the Xperia SP running consumers €389.79 (US $510) and the Xperia L selling for €270.46 ($355).
