Supposed Details For Samsung's New High-End Tablet Leak

Samsung has had a huge amount of success with its smartphone lineup. The company has been stealing market share from Apple for several quarters now. Samsung continues to struggle, however, when it comes to tablets. The company has released several new tablets each year, but none have caught on with consumers. Most of them are decent tablets, but no one is buying them. It’s as if Samsung has the same curse with tablets as HTC does with its phones. What Samsung should consider doing is taking the same approach with tablets as it does with phones, which is to release only one or two flagship devices each year, and cut out the low-end clunkers. Given the lack of Samsung tablets so far in 2013, that may be what the company is trying to do.

A new report from Techblog.gr claims that in the coming weeks, Samsung will announce its latest high-end, flagship tablet. The device will allegedly feature an Exynos 5 Dual core 1.7GHz processor with Mali-T604 Graphics,  2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and support for microSD cards up to 128GB in size. Other rumored specs include a 1.9MP front facing camera, 5MP rear camera and a 10.1-inch 2560×1600 display. Connectivity wise, we’re looking at support for 3G, 4G LTE, WiFi, DLNA, and Bluetooth 4.0. Battery life should be pretty good, as the device will supposedly feature a 9,000mAh battery in just a 583 gram package.

We’ll reamin a little skeptical of this report for now, as we’ve heard several different things about Samsung’s next tablet recently, and all seem to be a little bit different. It also doesn’t seem like a good idea for Samsung to launch a new flagship tablet so soon after announcing and launching its flagship Galaxy S 4.

We’ll be able to tell pretty soon if this report is correct, though, as it claims Samsung will announce the device in the coming weeks.

What do you think of this supposed Samsung tablet? Will it be able to compete with the iPad, Nexus  7, and Nexus 10? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments!
