Right now, HTC has a pretty strong advantage with its One flagship over Samsung’s Galaxy S4 flagship. The HTC One is available from retailers while the Galaxy S4 is not. Seems like a pretty sizeable advantage, no? Today, the device became available from another retail outlet.
Previously, the T-Mobile HTC One was available on the carrier’s website only, but starting today, the device is available in select retail stores, as well. By “select” stores, T-Mobile means that you better call your local store ahead of going because it may or may not have it in stock. Availability is still probably pretty limited, seeing that HTC has struggled to manufacture the device from the time it was announced back in February. Furthermore, they had to push the launch date back by several weeks.
If you chose to go with T-Mobile’s new Uncarrier plans with your HTC One, then you can have the device for $99 down and from each month on for 24 months, you’ll have an installment of $20 to pay. If you want to avoid all of that, then you can buy the device outright for $580.
The HTC One has been receiving very positive reviews so far in its lifetime. It has even caused some Samsung fanboys to become noticeably scared. The main complaints seem to be the lack of a removable battery and the lack of a microSD card.
As a refresher, the HTC One features pretty decent specs. It’s packing a 4.7-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, and Snapdragon 600 processor.

HTC has a lot riding on the One. After its 2012 flagships proved less than desirable, the company needs the One to succeed if it wants any hope of regaining its title as the top Android manufacturer from Samsung.
