A lot of devices have been hitting the FCC lately. We’ve seen two different Motorola devices hit the FCC along with a few others. The latest device to hit the FCC is a Toshiba tablet that has the model number AT10LE-A. This is a Tegra 4 powered tablet. Which would be one of the first Tegra 4 devices on the market, if it ever becomes official.
NVIDIA introduced us to the Tegra 4 chip back at CES in January. At CES we did see a few devices with Tegra 4, including a pair of stock Android tablets from Vizio. But nothing has been released. We just keep seeing benchmarks from their reference devices. There was also a rumor that NVIDIA is looking to market the Tegra 4 on mid-range devices. Basically leaving the high-end stuff for Exynos and Qualcomm to fight over. Which I’m sure Qualcomm and Samsung don’t mind.
This tablet from Toshiba is said to be running Android 4.2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC. Other than that we don’t know exactly that we’ll be getting from from this new tablet. But with it being a Tegra 4 device, it could be high-end. I’m hoping for a nice 10-inch tablet from Toshiba with near-stock Android onboard for a reasonable price. Who thinks that will happen?
How many of you are still waiting for a nice Tegra 4 device to hit the market? I know I’ve been desperately waiting for a Tegra 4 device to hit the market, preferrably in a tablet. In the past, Tegra chips have not done well in phones. Take the HTC One X for example, it’s battery life is pretty bad because it’s running on a Tegra 3 processor. Hopefully the Tegra 4 is much better on battery, but we still have no idea as of yet.
