We’ve been hearing that all kinds of executives have been leaving HTC as of late. In fact, today the company’s COO left as well. Making it look real gloomy for the company. There has also been all kinds of shipping delays for their flagship device. But today they released some good news, some very good news.
HTC has reported that the One’s launch has boosted their sales by 48% and the handset is holding up against Samsung’s Galaxy S4 in the market. Which many people thought would commit suicide against the Galaxy S4. Of course, HTC can’t beat Samsung with the One. But they can certainly give them a run for their money. Just a few weeks ago we reported that Samsung had shipped 10 million units and HTC had sold 5 million units since their respective global launch dates. So yes, HTC is still behind. But isn’t that expected? Since Samsung spent more on marketing last year than HTC made in profits.
In the past two years, HTC’s share value has dropped 76%, and it seemed like they were self destructing rather quickly. So once HTC saw some good numbers, they just couldn’t wait to release them and give us, consumers and media, something to talk about. And it’s something good to talk about as well. The HTC One seems to be selling rather well, and it’s going to be coming to Verizon this summer. Which will sell even more for the Taiwanese manufacturer. Not to mention the HTC One Mini, the new phones coming to the Desire line and their stab at a phablet, the T6 coming later this year as well.
How many of you have picked up a HTC One? How many of you want to see HTC compete with Samsung? Remember competition equals more innovation. Let us know in the comments down below.
