Ladies and Gentlemen Step Right Up: See the DROID Ultra's Barrage of Colors

See that?  It’s the fabric used for DuPont Kevlar®, which just so happens to be the material used on the back of Motorola’s latest phones, including the much-hyped DROID Ultra and DROID MAXX.  While all those capital letters might not tickle your fancy, one of these colors will likely do so, with Motorola offering the new phones in a barrage of colors that would make a rainbow jealous.  We’ve seen a few leaked shots of the Verizon exclusive DROID Ultra and DROID MAXX in black, red and white, but not quite this many colors yet.

Motorola accidentally posted some information on their site earlier this month hinting at a brand new lineup of DROID phones with the description  “Available in a bunch of glossy colors, this high-grade DuPont Kevlar body proves you can be even thinner and still be tough as steel.”  That sounds exactly like what we’re seeing here, and the source also agrees.  It seems like Motorola is giving users more choices in color these days, what with the Moto X customization and all.  People like colors and it seems like Motorola is listening and delivering, no matter which of their new phones you choose.

While we haven’t seen an official announcement for the new DROID family lineup, Verizon is set to likely unveil them today, with the possibility of launching them as soon as August 8th.  Unlike most phones about to be announced, we don’t have a huge list of possible specs for the phone, although there are a few things we’re pretty sure about:

  • 10MP camera with ClearPixel technology

  • Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor

  • 2GB RAM

  • 5-inch 1080p screen

If these are the true specs then we have one amazing phone on our hands (or soon to be in it anyway).  There’s also the fact that Verizon customers will be able to choose between a regular and a MAXX battery size depending on how much they want to pay for the phone.  The MAXX version of the new DROID lineup is said to have 48 hours of battery life too, which makes it the longest lasting phone on the market by far. Verizon and Motorola have a lot to live up to, but all signs are pointing to this being one of the nicest phone lineups this year.
