Could This be the New Nexus 5 From LG

Speculation about what company will manufacture the new Google Nexus 5 has been swirling around for months.  First, we heard that LG, the maker of the current Nexus 4, based on the LG Optimus G, would make another variation.  The Nexus 4 has been one of the most successful and well-liked Nexus smartphones.  We then heard that Samsung might get another stab at it and the most recent rumor was that Motorola may be making Google’s new flagship.

We even took a poll to see if you cared who made the new Nexus 5, and you know what we discovered; out of the 199 votes, 30-percent wanted Motorola, 23-percent chose HTC, 21-percent picked Sony and only 16-percent picked LG.  Whoever makes it, some announcement will be forth coming in the next couple of months.

We have now come full-circled and heard from a reliable source that the new Nexus 5 will indeed be made by LG, based on their yet to be released LG G2, as well as run on Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie…my favorite dessert!  The rumors on the specifications are scare, but it should have a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 or 800 processor.  Google will probably insist on the volume button being moved from the back, as on the G2, to the familiar side of the phone, as the picture depicts.  The picture also shows a small, dark blue, object of some sort on the bottom of the phone…it almost looks like it could be a stylus of some sort or it could just be a blue sticker, we just do not know at this point.

This could be an early prototype of the new LG Nexus 5, but we just cannot be sure until we get more verification.  It also appears from the picture this version could have a removable back, as does the International version of the LG G2.  Let us know if another LG Nexus excites you, or would you rather see another manufacturer take a turn.
