Moto X Available to Buy Online from Verizon; $199.99 on Contract

This year felt like the year of rumor when it comes to the Moto X. Well, now it’s finally here and having already launched on AT&T, now it’s Verizon’s turn. The device is now available to purchase from Big Red online for $199.99 on contract for the 16GB model, which bizarrely seems to be the only model that these guys have in stock. Unfortunately, all of the customization that makes the Moto X, the Moto X, is currently only available with AT&T. It’s pegged to be hitting Verizon later in the year but, for now it’s just Black and White from Verizon’s website.

What with this being Verizon, it’s not all that surprising that the off-contract price has been rounded up to $600. Which is actually quite bizarre considering everyone else is listing $579, even Motorola themselves. As Android Police is reporting if you enter the code “VERIZON30” at check out, you’ll take 30% off of the price, bringing it down to $139.99. If you’re looking to pick this guy up, it might be a good idea to wait for the MotoMaker to launch. After all, that’s what makes the Moto X such an attractive offer. Nevertheless, if all you’re interested in is the phone itself, then now’s your chance.

Verizon is pushing the fact that the Moto X has been assembled here, in the good ol’ US of A and we can’t blame them. It’s nice to see a carrier more used to hawking Samsung’s and HTC’s from the far East take a little pride in their latest product that’s made at home, for the home market.

As the Moto X makes its way to each and every carrier, the device should gain in popularity and we’re sure that by the end of the year, the Moto X will be everywhere. Or at least, that’s what Motorola is hoping for, anyway. The Moto X is now available from Verizon and AT&T. Let us know in the comments if you’re thinking of buying the Moto X or not.
