Moto X Launching on Other Carriers 'in Days'

On Friday, the Moto X launched on AT&T. You know the carrier that has the exclusive on customizing the Moto X? But we’ve found out some interesting information from Punit Soni, who works at Motorola. It looks like the Moto X will be launching on Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile (through Motorola’s channels)  in the coming days. Which makes it sound like it’s launching over the weekend. Here’s what Mr Soni said on Google+

Step 1 of rollout. Dev editions, other carrier versions rolling out in days

Of course, remember that when it does roll out to other carriers that you won’t have access to the Moto Maker to customize your Moto X. At least not at launch. AT&T does have an exclusive, but we aren’t sure how long that’ll last. We’ve heard that other carriers will get it on November 1st, but that’s not official nor confirmed. But there is a theory on why AT&T got an exclusive on the customization. Possibly, Motorola’s new plant in Fort Worth, TX isn’t quite ready and they don’t want to start overwhelmed and launching the customization on AT&T only at first will help out with that and limit the number of orders they’d receive. After all, ordering your Moto X today and getting it 4 days later is pretty quick.

We’ve also heard that the Moto X will be available on Google Play. Now it wasn’t confirmed as being a Google Edition, but from what we heard, it’ll be just like the one on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and everywhere else, but it’ll be unlocked. So you’ll still have all the goodies like Active display, Touchless control and more. We haven’t yet gotten one in house yet, but as soon as we do, we’ll be sure to get a review out for everyone to check out.

Hopefully we’ll see the Moto X launching on more carriers over the weekend. This is one phone that I hope does well, especially since I think the spec war is over, and now it’s all about the “experience”. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below if you’ll be picking one up?
