On Friday, the Moto Maker for AT&T went live. So customers could create their own Moto X from the Moto Maker website. Of course that is only available for AT&T customers. Motorola initially had it where you will have your Moto X in your hands within 4 days of placing your order. Well it now looks like they are pulling back on that a bit. At least according to some new information put out by Motorola. It could be because of demand, which is a great thing for Motorola. They want this type of demand for the Moto X, and so does Google. Here’s their statement:
“We’ll be working hard to get your customized Moto X to you as quickly as possible. We expect that because of high demand, initial shipping times may vary. But we will get that down to 4 days or less as soon as we possibly can. We’ll also be adding digital printing in the future, so you can include a personal message on the back of your Moto X.”-Motorola
Already this week, we learned that Motorola had to delay the engraving option on the Moto X. Which should be back soon, hopefully. But remember that engraving you Moto X is going to make it that much tougher to sell it down the road. So that may not be a good idea if you’re one that sells your phone after 6 months or so to buy the next big thing.

Motorola also confirmed earlier today, that the Moto X will be launching on other carriers within the coming days. So we should see it launching on Verizon, and Sprint soon. Although they won’t have access to Moto Maker, at least not yet. That should be changing soon. Since AT&T did get an exclusive on the customization, I don’t see it lasting too long. Or it’ll make the Moto X a huge flop.
