With MWC fast approaching, it’s hardly surprising that we’re starting to see a little more life from mobile companies around the world. Huawei might not be a big name in the West, but they’re one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world and are fairly popular throughout Europe and of course Asia. There’s no way that they’d be headed to MWC without something fairly special and according to Siri, that’s just what they’re going to do. Yes, you heard me correctly, Huawei have employed Siri to tease Huawei’s upcoming products at this year’s Mobile World Congress. In an interesting new YouTube video from Huawei, an innocent tech enthusiast asks Siri what’s new at this year’s Mobile World Congress?
“Siri” responds with information concerning a new tablet that’s super-slim and good-looking which somehow manages to feature a huge battery that Huawei is claiming will net you “days” of use. Moving on and Siri continues to tell us about an upcoming smartphone from the Chinese company that features an excellent front-facing camera. Then, it would seem that the star of the show is the third device that Huawei has to show off, a multimedia tablet that is said to give the ultimate experience. All of this sounds really quite exciting, and we’re surprised that it’s come from Siri, but then again that’s what Huawei wanted us to think. It’s a nice tongue-in-cheek sort of ad and the whole “you’ll have to zoom in to see it” bit is a nice jab to Apple, who still think that 4-inches is large enough for a smartphone these days.
We’ve been hearing a little about what Huawei has planned for this year’s MWC and it seems like tablets are going to be their main focus this year. With Samsung having released their Galaxy Tab Pro lineup and Sony all but set to announce a new Xperia Tablet Z device, this year could be the MWC of tablets. As for the smartphone, well there’s a chance that it could be the Ascend P7, the follow-up to last year’s Ascend P6 which features a super-slim design. Take a look at the video below and let us know what you’re looking forward to most this year.
