The Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 tablet have had quite a bit of attention lately, and rightfully so. Sony has launched these devices and the specs of the Z2 smartphone are enough to compete with other flagships of 2014. However, this isn’t the only smartphone coming from Sony this year, and we have pictures to prove it. You may have heard a little about the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, well now there are images that suggest we will be seeing this device officially, very soon.
The Sony flagship device, the Xperia Z2 is expected to start hitting shelves in the UK, on April 11th. The price tag on that device is expected to be a bit on the pricier side. However the Xperia T2 is going to be aimed at emerging markets, with a smaller price tag. This isn’t the first time we have heard of this device, in fact we first heard about it in January 2014. Complete with images and a minute and a half video. The problem, seemed to be that Mobile World Congress 2014 happened, and the attention was shifted to the flagship device. So to refresh our memories, the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, is not a waterproof device, which is expected from a lower end model. The display measures in at 6-inches, and is a 720p display. A quad core 1.4Ghz and 1GB of RAM is inside this device. It will also come in a dual SIM model as well, which brings us to the images that we have now.
The images depict the Xperia T2 Ultra dual SIM model, in it’s packaging for China Unicom. Like we said before, this device is most likely only for emerging markets, but could be seen other places later. Those markets include, China, the middle east, Africa, and the Asia Pacific. This strategy seems to be working towards gaining market shares in those areas. The Sony Xperia T2 ultra could be the device to do just that. So while the Xperia Z2 is attacking the US, trying to make a name for Sony there, the T2 ultra will hold down the fort in emerging markets. The exact launch date is not official just yet, but these images do get the mind churning, that we may be getting closer.
