Leak: Motorola Moto E Detailed Specs and Images

The Moto E has been keeping us awake even before an official announcement, after offerings like the Moto X and Moto G, anything that comes from the Motorola camp will definitely be closely scrutinized. Motorola has a press event planned in London on 13th May, where it is expected that the company would officially announce their “smartphone for all” – the Moto E. However, a Brazilian retailer has jumped the gun and posted everything about the Moto E on their web-store. FastShop Brazil, has given us detailed specs and some crisp press shots of the Moto E, for which we are pretty grateful.

When Motorola says that the Moto E is a phone for ‘all’, the company does not exaggerate. The Moto E offers up a 4.3 inch display, possibly with 540 x 960 pixels resolution which comes to a respectable ~256 ppi pixel density, protected with Gorilla Glass. Processing power is handled by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, with a sufficient 1 GB of RAM. Internal storage is at a meagre 4 GB, however it is thankfully expandable up to 32 GB on account of the built-in MicroSD slot. A 5 mega pixels (MP) primary snapper takes care of your clicking needs, however earlier rumors had suggested a front-facing secondary camera which seems to be missing in the images posted by FastShop.br. In terms of connectivity, the Moto E offers quad-band 2G and 3G with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth thrown in for good measure. The device supports dual SIMs on dual standby, making it a good choice as a base secondary phone for travel needs. The device will come pre-loaded with Android 4.4 Kit Kat and is powered by a 1980 mAh battery. So far we have seen three colors of the Moto E on the FastShop web-store – Black, Turquoise and Lemon, which could also mean that the device like the Moto G supports swappable back panels – but then again this could be mere speculation as of now.

An earlier leak of import documents for the device in India had pegged a white variant of the Moto E for INR 6330 (~$105), however the official pricing would be revealed during the May 13th event. On our part, we’ll wait and bring you more juicy bits, while you enjoy the images in our gallery. Also do let us know if you plan to get the Moto E as a secondary device, if it is in the sub-$100 price range. Our comments section awaits.
