Press Render of HTC One Mini 2 Leaks Out in Range of Colors

HTC’s One (M8) has been on sale for a good while now and when we reviewed it, we found it to be an excellent follow-up to an already very good phone. Since the launch of the M8 we’ve been hearing rumors of a miniature version of HTC’s latest evolution of their One line and more recently, we heard that HTC is going to be calling this new phone the HTC One Mini 2. We suppose that HTC One (M8) Mini doesn’t sound as good as HTC One Mini 2, but we’re still more than likely going to be seeing a lot of confused consumers. The device has yet to hit shelves yet, so we’ve got a little time left to see just which features of the M8 have made it into the Mini 2.

Thanks to a new leaked image, courtesy of @evleaks, we can see that the One Mini 2 isn’t going to feature the Duo Camera that the M8 has, and it’s only going to have one LED flash as well. This might put a lot of people off, but we’re assuming that HTC has done this in order to keep the cost of the device down and we wouldn’t be surprised if uFocus was implemented in some way here. The press render show us the One Mini 2 in Gunmetal Gray, Silver and Gold – all the colors that its big brother is available in.

The M8 is a pretty large device thanks to the BoomSound speakers and second camera module around the back, so the Mini might be a little more ‘mini’ than last year’s device was compared to the M7. Still, HTC will be targeting those either on a budget or those not wanting to spend a lot of money on a new smartphone, rather than those concerned with price. Last year’s One Mini only made it to one carrier (AT&T) here in the States, so we’re hoping that HTC can make this year’s Mini available to all.
