A device known as the One Plus One has a commonly talked about, but rarely owned device. Due to an invite only system of purchase for the One Plus One, accessories are hard to come by for the device. One Plus as a company knows that and is taking care of their customers by producing their own accessories. We now have a glimpse at what One Plus is working on to make up for the lack of third party accessories for their device.
One Plus took a very minimalistic view when building their device-the One Plus One. With very clean lines and plain colors available, it is only natural that they take the same approach to their accessories. This means One Plus has taken into consideration that owners of their One Plus One device must like that minimalistic take and catered to that taste. However, the options are very limited for the time being at least until third party manufacturers start developing accessories for the One. Taking the lead on accessory development, One Plus has started with a total of four cases,(two plastic and two flip cases) and a standard AC adapter charger.
The cases come in three colors, bright yellow and orange for the flip cases, and bright yellow and white for the plastic cases. The AC adapter charger is the same that comes with the device, but now available for separate purchase as a back-up charger. However, the cases are still being developed, and so more color options may be available at launch while others may not be. These accessories are the basics, there are no added functionalities to the cases and that’s how these cases can be seen as minimalistic. However, they do add a touch of personalization and protection for One Plus One owners. No matter how few and far apart they may be.
The invitation method that One Plus has taken seemed to have been a smart idea to test the waters. As a new OEM, One Plus had to see what demand would be like for their device before mass producing. Since the limited release started, One Plus has received a very high demand for their device. That high demand may not be enough to completely drop the idea of an invitation system to purchase the device. Instead, they will just allow more invitations to go out, and possibly easier to receive one in June. Currently, the One Plus One is priced at $299. There is no word on when the accessories will become available or at what price points.
