Recently we reported on a huge rumor that was going around about the future of the Samsung Galaxy S line. This rumor is still to be taken with a huge grain of salt and has yet to be verified. The rumor was that Samsung will be saying goodbye to the “S” line of devices they have and replace it with a new “F” line. Now there is a clearer picture of the Samsung Galaxy F from @evleaks, though keep in mind it is an “alleged image”.
The Samsung Galaxy F is rumored to be a high-end device and could possibly be released at Samsung’s “Unpacked Ep 2” event later this year. Some reasons why this rumor is to be considered a weak one, is that the “Unpacked Ep 2” event last year was a Samsung Galaxy Note event. Also, the image was provided by @evleaks, who received the image from an outside source, and didn’t acquire it on his own. Still, the specs of this device have been mentioned in the rumors as well.
It’s possible that the Galaxy F may be the Galaxy “Prime” device that has also been rumored as of late. The device may be a very premium device, built with some sort of metal-rather than plastic- and have the Snapdragon 805 chip inside. When we last saw the Galaxy F the image was pretty blurry and details were hard to see, but this new image (as seen above) is a lot clearer and details can be made out.
From the image you can see a brushed metal backplate similar to that found on the Gunmetal Gray HTC One M8, only brighter in color. On the front ends of the device, it seems that the design with the multiple dots has been taken from the back of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and placed here. Other than that, the device looks almost exactly like the Galaxy S5, which only weakens the rumors. The heart rate monitor, camera and sensors all in the same locations as the S5. The question is Samsung launching a new, premium line by using a Galaxy S5 built with new materials? Or is there more to this device than can be seen in an image? There has yet to be any official word on the Galaxy F coming from Samsung. Until we do hear something official, what are your thoughts? Let us know down below.
