Meizu leaks just keep on coming, we’ve seen the Meizu MX4 leak a lot and basically know everything there is to know about it at this point, presuming the leaks are legit of course. Just to remind you, there are 2 variants of MX4 smartphone, the basic MX4 version and the top of the range Meizu MX4 Pro. The only difference between the two (as far as specifications go) devices should be in screen size (and resolution) and processor power. Meizu MX4 is expected to sport Samsung’s Exynos 5430 processor while the MX4 Pro should come with an Exynos 5433 CPU. The basic model will have a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display on the front while the MX4 Pro will reportedly sport a 5.5-inch QHD panel up front. 3GB of RAM, 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera along with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera are expected on both devices. Both of these are expected to come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat pre-installed with Meizu’s Flyme 4.0 OS on top of it.
This new leak brings us a bunch of images of what is said to be a “top of the range Meizu MX4”, which will probably be called the MX4 Pro, as mentioned above. We haven’t seen this device up until now, only the basic MX4 variant. As you can see in the images below, the device looks different than already leaked Meizu MX4. On the front you can see a fingerprint scanner located below the screen as well as a front-facing camera on the upper right side. Alleged 20.7-megapixel camera is located at the back along with an LED flash and Meizu’s branding down below. It seems like the device will have a removable back cover which seems plastic, though the device seems to sport a metallic frame. Otherwise the handset looks, well, ordinary I’d say. I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing on there that would make me drool over it. Don’t get me wrong though, the device looks alright and the metallic frame is a plus in my book. What are your thoughts?
Meizu has scheduled a press event at this year’s IFA as well, it will be held on September 2nd. Both MX4 and MX4 Pro are expected to make an appearance there, so stay tuned.
