For quite a while now, the most anticipated news about the launch of a new Sony Xperia smartphone, was not the device itself, but where is it actually going to be available for sale…in our case, the U.S. Today, at IFA Berlin, Sony announced their new flagship device, the Xperia Z3, along with the Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet in an effort to solidify its ‘family’ of products. Does this new ‘family’ mean that Sony has finally gotten its act together and more of us will see their devices in a more timely manner? You have to remember that Sony only took complete control of its mobile business in 2012 by buying out Ericsson’s stake in their joint venture – Sony promptly rebranded itself as Sony Mobile. However, the last few flagships have seen long delays before coming to the U.S. market, if they came at all – and they have had very little carrier support. So far, we know the Xperia Z3 will find its way to O2 as confirmed by our source and it will be on their Refresh Plan that allows you to pay off your device early, allowing for an early upgrade. They will be offering it in the Silver-Green version sometime the end of September. EE has also confirmed with our source that their customers will be able to pre-order the Xperia Z3 starting Thursday, September 4 from the EE Shops – assuring they will be the first ones to get their device. It will be available on their 4GEE and 4GEE Extra Plans. Carphone Warehouse will be stocking both the Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 compact in only the Green color. Vodaphone confirmed it will stock the new Xperia Z3 smartphones, but no other details were given. Three and Phones4U have not yet confirmed if they will be selling the new Sony Xperia devices. Word is also out the we will see the Sony Xperia Z3 on T-Mobile sometime by the end of the year…not too far after the rest of the world. Please hook up with us on our Google+ Page and let us know if you would be interested in Sony’s new flagship…as always, we would love to hear from you.
