Motorola’s Moto X, Moto G and Moto E handsets are rather popular in select markets, but their availability is somewhat limited. China didn’t have the privilege to offer Motorola’s Moto devices, but everyone expected that to change considering Lenovo (Chinese OEM) acquired Motorola Mobility from Google. Motorola has been teasing the launch of Moto X for a while now, they even released an animated gif image bluntly revealing that the Moto X will arrive in China soon. Motorola also released a teaser on their official webpage two days ago. We assumed that the company will release the device soon, and that seems more and more likely.
Company’s XT1085 and XT1079 models got certified by National Quality Certification Center in China recently, and now both of these handsets got certified by China’s Radio Transmission Equipment center in China. The XT1085 model has support for GSM / TD-SCDMA /WCDMA / CDMA2000 / TD-LTE / LTE FDD / WLAN (WAPI) connectivity networks, which means 4G LTE connectivity is here along with the standard bands and Wi-Fi connectivity. The XT1079 model supports GSM / TD-SCDMA / WCDMA / TD-LTE / LTE FDD. These are most likely Moto X and Moto G models which will launch in China really soon.
The latest reports were claiming that both of these handsets will launch before Chinese New Year and that’s very likely now. These two handsets might launch in the next couple of weeks. It remains to be seen what will be changed in comparison to the international versions of these handsets considering some Google services are banned in China. Motorola’s proprietary features will come pre-installed for sure, but the rest is kind of a mystery at this point. Motorola’s animated gif did reveal that the Moto X will have multiple options as far as customization goes, that might mean that they’ll either sell multiple version of the device (differently designed options) or that they’ll give Chinese consumers the option to design their own device via Moto Maker.
