While Samsung and HTC are both right around the corner from officially launching their upcoming flagship devices, LG has yet to unveil what they have coming for the 2015 calendar year. There have been a few leaks here and there regarding what the LG G4 could look like, but nothing really concrete. Today a user on the XDA forums has leaked what appears to be the upcoming successor to the LG G3. The images are rather convincing, but there are a couple of things to consider. This device could be the LG G4 or it could be the LG G4 Stylus device.
At one point there was a rumor that LG may be looking to launch the LG G4 with a stylus called the G-Pen to have it compete with the Galaxy Note series devices from Samsung, however, another rumor that had been floating around suggested there would be a completely different device launched by LG, essentially a model of the G4 with the Gpen potentially called the LG G4 Note. While there are no more details at this point in time to confirm whether or not LG will have two models of the upcoming handset, the images here definitely appear to be LG’s latest device with at least one unknown element.
The images display the familiar placement of the rear-facing camera sitting just above the rear-mounted power button and volume rocker, with the laser autofocus and LED flash on either side of the camera sensor, the back plate also looks a lot like the plastic with brushed metal design used in the LG G3, so the rumors about a metal body are still up in the air. If this is the LG G4, just at the top left corner in the image of the back of the phone there appears to be what looks like a stylus tucked away into the body of the device, similar to what Samsung does with the Note series. The device also seems to be running on Android 5.0.2 build LRX22G, which suggests what most people probably already suspected, that the LG G4 will likely come running Lollipop out of the box. As for the software, if these images are accurate than LG looks to have kept things much the same.
