Back at the start of the month, the second big tech event of the year, MWC, kicked off. One of the companies who were quick out of the gates with their announcement was HTC. By now, it is well reported that the announcement was to introduce the next of their One flagship devices, the HTC One M9. However, this did not come as that much of a surprise as the device had long been rumored and speculated upon prior to its official unveiling. So much so that the HTC One M9 was one of the more highly rumored devices of recent times.
Following the device launch (and as you would expect), speculation did stop around that particular device, but the speculation has not exactly stop surrounding HTC. Instead, following on from the MWC announcement, there has been a number of further leaks, images and rumors doing the rounds. A lot of these have circulated around what is being dubbed the HTC One E9 (or HTC E9) device, which is thought to be a slightly toned down version of the One M9. Similar to how the HTC One E8 was of the HTC One M8. Not to mention, the One M9 Plus rumors were still doing the rounds thanks to its no-show status at MWC.
Well, the latest coming from the HTC camp is that there is going to be a big announcement happening on Wednesday from HTC and this one will be especially for U.S. residents. The heads up on this occasion came via Twitter from Jason Mackenzie, President, HTC Americas. The tweet did not give away any major details about what can or should be expected and instead simply states a “BIG” announcement is coming Wednesday. This might be carrier availability about the One M9, but then again could be anything at all after all the recent speculation and rumors. Of course, whether Mackenzie’s ‘big’ will qualify for ‘big’ in your mind remains to be seen. Either way, with Wednesday only a couple of days away, we won’t have to wait that long until we know more of what HTC have to say to U.S. customers. What do you think the announcement will be for? Let us know your guesses.
