Meizu will announce their much rumored ‘Note’ handset on June 2nd. The company has announced the event in Beijing a while back, and we’ll be there to cover it live. The company’s VP, Li Nan, has already said that the ‘Note’ handset will be announced and that it will sport a physical home button, and that it won’t feature a fingerprint scanner. The device that Meizu intends to launch is quite probably the M1 Note 2 or M2 Note, whatever they decide to call it in the end. That handset will be a direct successor to the Meizu M1 Note which launched at the end of 2014.
We’ve talked about this handset earlier today, when we shared a newly leaked image of it. Well, it seems like the full specs of this device have now popped up on GFXBench, though the page has been removed since then. Anyhow, the source managed to get the specs from it before it was removed, so, let’s check them out. According to the source / GFXBench listing, the Meizu M2 Note will feature a 4.6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS display along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). The listed handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.3GHz which ships with a Mali-T720 GPU. The listing also says that the handset will feature a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and a 5-megapixel snapper up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop will allegedly come pre-installed on the M2 Note with Meizu’s Flyme UI on top of Google’s operating system, of course. This smartphone will offer 4G LTE and dual SIM connectivity, in case you were wondering.
There you have it folks, that are the leaked specs of the Meizu M2 Note. Everything seems more or less in order, except the phone’s display size. The M1 Note sported a 5.5-inch display, and this listing says that its successor will sport a 4.6-inch panel? That certainly doesn’t add up, perhaps this is a listing for the M1’s successor, not M1 Note’s. Either way, things will be far more clearer in a couple of days, stay tuned.
