As many of you know, Meizu will be announcing their new flagship later today. The Meizu MX5 will be a direct successor to the MX4, and I guess you we can say that it will kind of succeed the MX4 Pro as well. The MX4 didn’t sport a physical home button, while the MX4 Pro did, and according to many information we have thus far, the MX5 will offer the physical home button as well. That being said, the MX5 Pro has also been mentioned a number of times before, and a new leak surfaced in China recently, read on.
The Meizu MX5 Pro quite probably won’t be announced alongside the MX5, this handset was expected to launch later this year, and according to a new rumor, that will definitely happen. The source claims that the MX5 Pro will arrive in July, which is not exactly a new information, but the source also says that the July 28th is a probable release date for this handset. Truth be told, we were expecting the handset to arrive even latter in the year because this basically means that Meizu will be announcing two flagships within one month. Keep in mind that this is just a rumor though, so it’s possible that the information isn’t exactly accurate. One thing is for sure, the MX5 Pro is on its way, the only question is… when.
That being said, the MX5 Pro has already been certified in China, or at least it seems that way. The certifications process didn’t exactly reveal its specifications, but according to some previous info, the device will feature a 6-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display along with 4GB of RAM and an oval-shaped physical home button below the display. Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core SoC has been mentioned before, but it is quite possible that the MX5 Pro will be powered by a MediaTek chip, just like its MX5 sibling. The 20-megapixel camera is expected to be available on the back of the MX5 Pro, and a 4,000mAh battery will also be a part of this package. You can also expect Android Lollipop to come pre-installed here with Meizu’s Flyme UI installed on top of it.
