Green Emerald Galaxy S6 Edge Available On Vodafone UK

When the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge went on sale back in July, we knew that an exclusive Galaxy S6 in Blue Topaz and a Galaxy S6 Edge in Green Emerald were eventually going to arrive at the carriers.  While the Green Emerald was announced for sale in the UK for the beginning of July, only now has Vodafone made it available in the UK.  Internally, this variant has the same specs as the original Galaxy S6 Edge with its curved edges – only the color has changed.

Vodafone has all four colors – Black, White, Gold and Green – in stock and ready to ship in all three variants – 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.  With Vodafone’s Red Value bundle that includes unlimited text and minutes on a 24-month plan, you are looking at an upfront amount of £29 and then a monthly cost of £49…which would include 4GB of data.  Higher data plans lowers the upfront amount to only £9, but the monthly fee is increased depending on your data amount.  For instance, an 8GB data plan would cost you £54 a month, 15GB would cost £59 a month and so on.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge put the excitement back in the Galaxy S series, which was getting a little dull.  The Galaxy S5 was a solid device, but failed to excite buyers and sales were slow, considering it was the new Samsung flagship device.  Samsung finally made some big changes in its design by shedding its plastic skin on a glass and metal design.  Not only did they address that issue, but they also released the Galaxy S6 Edge edition with dual curves on either side of the display – giving it an instant cool factor not found on any other device.  Samsung pumped up the specs, but also did away with expandable memory and the once iconic removable battery – two features that were highly criticized by loyal Samsung buyers.  Also disappointing was the fact that now they had a sealed device, why not include water and dust proofing like the Sony Xperia Z series?

Samsung has been very good with support for the new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge – they are already updated to Lollipop 5.1.1 and their new theme store has been adding new designs on a weekly basis, allowing you to change the look of your display whenever you choose.  Hopefully, this is a trend that will continue with Samsung as we look forward to the new Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+.
