Motorola Moto G (2015) Specs

After weeks of intensive rumors and leaks, Motorola has finally announced the third-gen Moto G handset alongside the Moto X Style and Moto X Play. This handset is a direct successor to the Moto G handset that was announced last year, a device which was considered to be one of the best mid-range offerings out in the market. Motorola has decided to tweak the design of the new smartphone, and has also brought a more powerful hardware to the tablet this time around. We’ve already covered the initial announcement of this smartphone, and are here to take a closer look at its specifications, read on.

Motorola has actually decided to bring two variants of the Moto G to the table this time around, the 1GB and 2GB models. The 1GB variants comes with 8GB of internal storage, while the 2GB model ships with 16GB of in-built storage. Both of these variants offer microSD expansion, so you can expand their internal storage up to 32GB. These are the only differences between the two models, aside from RAM and internal storage count, these two devices are completely identical. That being said, the Motorola Moto G features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass protection on top. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor running at 1.2GHz fuels this smartphone along with an Adreno 306 GPU which is in charge of graphics processing. The 13-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture, IR filter) is this phone’s main camera, and it is located on its back, along with a dual-tone LED flash. The 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front, and the 2,470mAh battery is also included in this package. Interesting enough, Moto G (2015) actually comes with IPX7 certification for water resistance as well.

What about its software? Well, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on the new Moto G, and as usual, this is an almost stock version of the OS. Motorola did, however, include some of its software features in this device, like Moto Display which is available here. What is Moto Display? Well, it allows you to check the time at a glance whne you pick up the device, and also notifications when you receive them. The Motorola Moto G (2015) comes in Black and White variants, and you’ll once again be able to change the device’s back cover, and by doing so, customize the device.
