One of the advantages of the Android operating system is that you get to choose a phone from a variety of price ranges, so it doesn’t get out of your budget. Granted, these affordable devices have been out for a while, but they have improved over time as the OS has been optimized to use fewer resources. Now, some handsets that have been popular offerings in those markets are coming to T-Mobile as it was reported a couple of days ago. Although they are not the cheapest options, they do offer some nice specs for their asking prices.
The Kyocera Hydro WAVE has already been announced for T-Mobile this morning and is an affordable option which holds up to most scenarios and especially due to its certification against water and dust. The other reported options include two phones from Samsung and one from HTC. All of them are available to purchase starting today in T-Mobile stores and online, plus they all include LTE connectivity.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime has support for the recently announced Advanced Messaging and it costs $189.99 or it can be free if you opt to pay $7.92 during 23 months and $7.83 on the 24th month. It was actually announced last year and it offers a 5-inch screen with qHD resolution, a Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor with 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage which can be expanded. Its cameras consist of an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel one on the front.
The second Samsung phone is the Galaxy Core Prime, which can be purchased for $139.99 or for $0 upfront on a two-year contract ($5.84 for 23 months and 5.67 for the 24th month). This one features a smaller 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 768 x 480 pixels and has the same processor as the other Samsung phone. Although, this time it includes 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage (which can be expanded). The main camera has 5-megapixels while the second one is a 2-megapixel offering.
The HTC device is the recently announced Desire 626, which costs $169.99 or $7.09 for 23 months and $6.92 on the 24th month. This one comes with a 5-inche display and has HD resolution, but the included processor is the quad-core Snapdragon 210 with 1.5 GB of RAM and only 8 GB of internal memory. Interestingly, it is compatible with microSD cards up to 200 GB. The camera configuration includes an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera.
