Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Surfaces, Heart-Rate Monitor In Tow

Xiaomi is China’s largest smartphone OEM, and one of the fastest growing smartphone OEMs in the world. This company, however, manufactures all kinds of tech gadgets, not just smartphones. Xiaomi is manufacturing smart TVs, tablets, smartphones, fitness trackers, and all sorts of other tech gadgets. Speaking of fitness trackers, earlier this month the company has announced that they sold more than 6 million Mi Band units to date. The Xiaomi Mi Band is the company’s first and only fitness tracker which is incredibly cheap and works really well, so it’s not exactly a surprise they managed to sell that many units thus far.

Anyhow, we’ve seen quite a few Mi Band 2 rumors thus far, and several of them have said that the upcoming Xiaomi-branded fitness tracker will sport a display this time around. Well, that might be the case for the Mi Band 2, but a new leak suggests that Xiaomi is planning to release the Mi Band 1S which will retain its original shape, well… kind of. If you take a look at the gallery below this article, you’ll see two leaked images which allegedly show us the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S. As you can see, this thing will sport a heart-rate monitor on the bottom, which is something the original Mi Band did not offer. The general design of this thing will remain more or less unchanged, at least as far as the capsule itself goes, this leak didn’t exactly share the image of the rubber band itself. It is to be expected that the band will be identical as well considering this thing is even the same size as the original. The Mi Band 1S will sport three LED light up top, just like its predecessor.

We still don’t have the release date or pricing info for this fitness tracker, but it is to be expected that it will sport the same price as its predecessor, or will cost slightly more than the original Mi Band. As far as the release date goes, well, it is possible Xiaomi intends to release this in the next couple of months or so. Either way, we’ll report back as soon as additional info pops up, stay tuned.
