HTC Hima Aero heading to India with Dual-SIM Support

We’ve been hearing an awful lot about the HTC Hima Aero lately. Many believe it’s HTC’s next flagship that will be available globally. While we don’t have confirmation on that, it does appear to be heading to India and will be featuring Dual-SIM support. It’s also rumored to be sporting a 5-inch display, that is rumored to be a QHD display, around 2560×1440 resolution. The HTC Hima Aero recently appeared on Zauba, which is India’s import database website. Now these could be imported to India fro R&D testing purposes, as many smartphone manufacturers have factories in India for doing R&D as well as manufacturing.

According to the listing, it appears it’ll be sporting a MediaTek MT6797, which is the Helio X20 deca-core processor. It also has the possibility of being the first device to launch with MediaTek’s Helio X20 processor, in October. Other specs are showing 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage with a 3500mAh battery powering the smartphone. The listing also shows that the phone might cost around Rs. 28,000, which when converted is around $421 USD.

HTC does have an event on the 29th of this month in Japan. Now it’s likely we’ll see a new Butterfly there, it’s a little bit likely that we might see the HTC Hima Aero for India announced there. Much more likely than seeing a smartphone release for the US taking place in Japan, however. HTC hasn’t a great year, with their M9 not selling all that well, and also seeing their stock take a huge dive. HTC is hoping that their next flagship releases can help turn that around, and turn it around quickly. Since 2011, HTC has been struggling to stay out of the red, when it comes to quarterly numbers. We hope they can make a comeback as they are a great smartphone maker, and create some great smartphones. But for some reason people just aren’t buying them. Perhaps the HTC Vive with Valve can help them out, but that’s not going to launch until at least early 2016. So it won’t help HTC immediately, unfortunately.

We’ll be sure to keep our eyes open and see what else we can find on the HTC Hima Aero. It sounds like it could be destined for India only, and may not be available for the rest of the world. However, we have seen other rumors that say it’s coming to the US as well.
