Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P Canadian Pre-Orders Start Sept 29

Tomorrow is a big day for Google users all over the globe as Google will unveil, not one, but two new Nexus smartphones – one will be by an old friend to Nexus, LG and the other by newcomer, Huawei.  Both devices are being announced and released simultaneously.  The LG Nexus 5X is the cheaper of the two with lesser specs and the Huawei Nexus 6P will be the higher end model.  Google floored everybody last year with the Motorola Nexus 6 with a huge display, specifications and price tag, as well as selling it through the carriers and the Google Play Store.  However, according to ‘Android Police,’ all of that will change this year as Google seems to go back to its roots and the two new devices will be sold through the Google Play Store only…at least in the States.  But in Canada, the US, UK, S. Korea, Ireland and Japan, pre-orders will start tomorrow and they will be available the first part of October.

If all of the news we have so far pans out, the LG Nexus 5X will retail for $379.99 USD for the 16GB model.  It will have a 5.2-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 424 pixels-per-inch (PPI).  It will use a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.82GHz.  The Nexus 5X will come with 3GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage and no microSD card slot.  It will use a 12.3MP sensor for the main camera and a 5MP front-facing camera (FFC) for selfies and video chats.  The battery is only 2700mAh, but comes with Quick Charger 2.0.  It will have a fingerprint sensor and dual front-facing speakers.  It will come in the colors Carbon, Quartz and Ice Blue.

The Huawei Nexus 6P will cost you $499.99 USD for the 32GB model, but it has substantially upgraded areas over the Nexus 5X.  For starters, the Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and approximately 520 PPI.  It uses a 64-bit, reworked, v.2.1, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor clocked at 1.9GHz.  It also has 3GB of RAM, but offers 32GB, 64GB and 128GB options for internal memory with no microSD card for expansion.  It has a 13MP camera sensor and a huge 8MP FFC for selfies and video chats.  It has a larger 3450mAh battery and sports a new microUSB Type-C connector.  The Nexus 6P has a fingerprint sensor, dual-port front-facing speakers and an all-metal frame and body.  You can purchase it in Aluminum, Graphite, Frost and in Japan only, Gold.
