Although the most exciting thing to happen in Android recently revolves around the unveiling of the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P from a couple of weeks ago alongside the announcement of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, there’s still much to be excited about with Google’s OS. Android 6.0 Marshmallow started showing up on Nexus devices this week following the push of the factory images from Google to the web, which also meant that OTA download links started to appear. While the software is not yet available, both T-Mobile and Sony announced this past week which of their devices were to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and Sony even reveals that 10,000 individuals would be selected as beta testers for the software in select regions.
The BlackBerry PRIV showed up in new hands on photos this past week, and just a couple of days afterward it showed up on the Bluetooth Certification site which may suggest that the launch is just around the corner. Expected to be announced soon is the OnePlus X, thought to be the second device this year from OnePlus which could end up getting an unveiling in the next couple of days. Microsoft revealed a new wearable called the Microsoft Band 2, their second generation activity tracker which is cross compatible with Android. In regards to new devices, Xiaomi is rumored to potentially unveil the Mi Note 2 next month, and LG recently launched their V10 smartphone in South Korea which means a U.S. launch could be coming up rather soon as well.
