Huawei India: We'll Start Shipping Nexus 6P Next Month

Google has introduced two Nexus devices last month, the LG Nexus 5X and a Huawei Nexus 6P. The first device is actually the company’s new smartphone, and the latter one is a phablet device. Both of these devices have launched in a number of regions all over the world thus far, including India. Google has introduced these two phones in India on October 13th, and the LG Nexus 5X pre-orders have been proceeding as planned, Nexus 6P’s, not so much.

The Huawei Nexus 6P has been available for pre-order on Flipkart basically ever since Google launched it, but Google / Flipkart had some issues along the way. Something the two companies didn’t mention when the device was launched, is the fact the device will be available in batches. Considering that fact, some users were actually unable to pre-order the Nexus 6P in India. The device was supposed to ship on October 21st, but Flipkart said that they’ll receive first shipments of the device a the end of this month.

Well, it seems like the company intends to delay shipments event further. ”Our supply chain is working on priority to fulfill the demand and the smartphones will be shipped out in batches. The first batch of the smartphone will be available in India starting first week of November. We are working closely with Flipkart and our retail partners on the availability of the smartphones to the Nexus 6P fans,” said P. Sanjeev, Vice President of Sales at Huawei & Honor India.

It seems like Huawei and Flipkart underestimated the demand for Google’s new phablet in India, and are now having some issues shipping enough of these devices. Anyhow, the Nexus 6P was announced in three internal storage variants, the 32, 64 and 128GB ones. Only the first two variants are available in India, and are priced at Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 42,999 in India, respectively. The Nexus 6P sports a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, and it packs in a 3,450mAh battery on the inside. The 12.3-megapixel camera is available on the back of this device, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed here.
