Huawei Mate 8 rumors have been popping up online for months now. The company has announced the Mate S smartphone during IFA in Berlin, and the company’s CEO has recently confirmed that the Mate 8 phablet will be arriving soon as well. Soon after that happened, Huawei has confirmed that the Mate 8 phablet will be announced on November 26th. Now, as I mentioned, we’ve seen quite a few leaks thus far, but we haven’t seen the phone in the flesh just yet. Well, a leak surfaced which reveals a tiny bit of this phablet’s design, and it actually goes hand-in-hand with what we’ve seen before, read on.
If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll see the alleged Huawei Mate 8, but, unfortunately, the device is covered by a case which covers its design. Looking at the rear side of the device, though, you’ll see the camera sensor, dual-LED flash and a fingerprint scanner which have surfaced already, quite recently actually. We still haven’t seen a Mate 8 leak in full, but it seems like we know what will the upper rear portion of the device look like thanks to this image.
Now, the Mate 8 will be a rather big device. According to the GFXBench listing which popped up recently, the Mate 8 will sport a 6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The all-new Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2GHz will fuel this phablet along with a Mali-T880 GPU for graphics. The 16-megapixel camera will be located on the back of the Mate 8, and an 8-megapixel snapper will be available up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this phablet according to GFXBench, and Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) skin will be installed on top of it. The Huawei Mate 8 will be made out of metal, and you can also expect it to sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, just like its predecessor, the Ascend Mate7.
That is pretty much it, we still don’t know what will the device look like, but that might be revealed soon through a leak, as it pretty much always is. We’ll let you know if that happens before Huawei announces this phablet, so stay tuned.
