Elephone W2 Is Company's All-New Cross-Platform Smartwatch

Elephone has just held a press conference in China, and has announced three new devices and a smartwatch. We’ve already talked about the P9000 handsets that were announced, the bezel-less Elephone P9000 Edge, and the two other quite interesting and well-specced devices, the P9000 and P9000 Lite. Now, it’s time to talk a bit about the newly announced Elephone-branded smartwatch, so let’s see what it has to offer, shall we.

Now, first and foremost, it is worth mentioning that this watch is not powered by Android Wear. Elephone is currently working on an Android Wear-powered smartwatch called ELE Watch, but it hasn’t been announced today. The Elephone W2 is a smartwatch with a third-party software which is compatible with both Android and iOS operating systems. Its display is 1.61-inches big, and the watch itself is waterproof up to 30 meters according to the company. The 210mAh (Button Cell) battery is located on the inside (can last up to 3 months according to the company), and the watch can act as a sleep monitor and a fitness tracker, while it has a built-in alarm and the remote feature. The watch will be available in both men and women variants, and based on the info we’ve received, these two variants will be available in only one color option each. The variant for men will ship in White color, and the model for women will be Gold colored. The watch itself is made out of metal, and you’ll get a leather band along with it.

The Elephone P9000 devices and the W2 watch are not yet available. The company did announce these devices at today’s press conference, but did not share any details regarding availability nor pricing just yet. That is pretty much it as far as Elephone’s announcement for the day are concerned, the company has introduced four new devices, and the bezel-less P9000 Edge devices is arguably the most interesting out of the bunch. That being said, we’ll report back as soon as Elephone releases more details when it comes to these products, stay tuned.
