Samsung is the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer at the moment. This Korea-based tech giant has been keeping that title for quite some time now, and it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming years. That being said, Samsung tends to release quite a few devices a year, including smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and all kinds of other tech. Well, we’re here to talk about Samsung’s smartwatches, well, one particular smartwatch which this company has introduced last year, the Gear S2.
Samsung’s first-gen Gear S smartwatch was quite an interesting wearable, but quite odd and… well, out of place in a way. The company has decided to refine the device before they release its sequel, and as a result, we got a really well-crafted successor. The Gear S2 is, according to many people, one of the best-looking wearables of 2015, especially its ‘Classic’ variant. This smartwatch is powered by Samsung’s Tizen OS, but it is compatible with Android. Not only does it look significantly better than the original, but it also offers a lot more in terms of pure functionality. The Gear S2 sports a circular crown on top of the watch itself which is used for navigating the smartwatch, in combination with its touchscreen, of course.
That being said, Samsung has introduced this smartwatch in two base colors, Dark Gray and Silver, though the straps are interchangeable, so you have plenty of options. Only two main colors of the device were made available originally, but it seems like Samsung plans to introduce some additional colors during CES 2016. A report popped up recently, saying that the company plans to announce additional Rose Gold and Platinum color options soon. Well, the Gear S2 has been spotted in both Rose Gold and Platinum color options at the tradeshow in Las Vegas, though Samsung still hasn’t announced these options.
Now, keep in mind that we’re talking about the Gear S2 Classic here, not the regular Gear S2, but its ‘Classic’ Variant. Unlike the main Gear S2 model, the Gear S2 classic is made out of metal, and you can put regular straps on it, you’re not limited to Samsung’s proprietary ones. The Gear S2 Classic can be considered a classy variant of Samsung’s smartwatch, and it looks like Samsung will offer us more option when it comes to this watch, stay tuned.
