Price Drop on Amazon Prime to $73 for Limited Time

Amazon Prime has been around since 2005, it’s steadily been growing, and is a pretty popular service from Amazon. It started out as a yearly subscription for users to get free two-day shipping. And on most items, next-day delivery was $3.99. In the 10 years since Prime debuted, Amazon has added plenty more features to the service. Including 20% off new video games, recently. As well as Amazon Prime Music, Instant Video and more. They recently raised the price to $99 per year, which is still quite cheap, especially if you order quite often from Amazon. However now through January 17th, Amazon is offering a year of Prime for just $73.

Starting on Friday, January 15th at 9pm PDT, Amazon will be selling Prime for just $73. And it will last until 11:59am local time on Sunday, January 17th. So if you’ve been looking to get into Amazon Prime, this is a great time to do so. You can still sign up for a 30-day trial as well. The reason for Amazon discounting Prime for a little over 48 hours, is to celebrate the recent wins at the Golden Globes. Their original series, Mozart in the Jungle won two Golden Globes earlier this month. In addition to discounting Prime, Amazon is also offering the two seasons of Mozart in the Jungle to stream for free this weekend. This is available to those that do not have Prime as well.

A great sale for Amazon Prime which is a great service. Especially since Amazon does quite literally sell everything right now. This sale is targeted at new customers, as Amazon would like to keep growing their user base for Prime. But there is a nice way around that caveat. Which is to buy a gift subscription and sent it to yourself. So you can get a year of Prime for $73 instead of the usual $99. Of course if you’re a student, there’s no discount for you, as the normal price is $49. You can pick up a year of Prime by hitting the button down below. It’s a great service and one that almost all of us here at Android Headlines have.
