Honor 5C Unveiled for The UK, Costs £149.99

Honor had introduced a number of devices this year, including the Honor V8, Honor 5A and the Honor 5C. The Honor 5C was introduced back in April in China, and the company has been teasing this device’s arrival to UK and India quite recently. Honor basically confirmed via social media that the device will launch in the UK on June 20th (today), and that it will land in India on June 22nd. That being said, the phone has just been announced in the UK during a live virtual launch today, read on.

This device comes with the same specifications as the Honor 5C which was announced in China, and is essentially the same phone made for a different market, except for the fact there’s no fingerprint scanner here. “We are incredibly proud to introduce a smartphone to the European audience that equips consumers with the absolute essentials they need for their always-on lifestyles,” said Akin Li, Managing Director of Honor Western Europe. The Honor 5C is made out of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy body, and sports a scratch-resistant anodized coating. The device sports a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) IPS display, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). This handset is fueled by the Kirin 650 64-bit octa-core processor made using a 16nm FinFET process, and a 3,000mAh battery is also included in this package, and it is not removable. The 13-megapixel BSI shooter (Prime ISP, SmartImage 3.0, flash-capable HDR mode) is placed on the back of the Honor 5C, and an 8-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture, 77-degree wide-angle 4P lens) is available on the front side of this smartphone. The device ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, with Huawei’s Emotion UI 4.1 (EMUI 4.1) on top of it. The device measures 147.1 x 73.8 x 8.3mm, while it weighs 156 grams.

The Honor 5C comes in Gold, Silver and Gray color variants, and is priced at £149.99 in the UK. Starting today, you can purchase Honor at Huawei’s online store, vMall.eu, and alternatively through Amazon, Ebuyer, Clove and Expansys. Starting in August, this smartphone will also be available on contract or on Pay As You Go (PAYG) from Three in the UK.
