Rumor: 1 Million OnePlus 3 Units To Be Available At Launch

OnePlus is a very young company, it was founded at the end of 2013, and despite that, their first smartphone was a huge success. The OnePlus One was introduced back in 2014 and was one of the best devices that year. Since then, OnePlus has released two additional smartphones, the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X. That being said, after a number of leaks, the company has confirmed recently that the OnePlus 3 flagship will be announced on June 15th in China, and it will become available on June 16th, while you won’t be needing an invite in order to purchase it.

Having that in mind, a new report has surfaced in China. According to an industry insider, Mocha RQ, the company will have 1 million OnePlus 3 units in stock at launch, which is the main reason the launch of the device was slightly delayed. That is not all the info we’ve received today though, the phone’s pricing has also surfaced. According to the newest rumor, OnePlus actually plans to release four different variants of their new flagship. The base variant of the OnePlus 3 will cost 2,299 Yuan ($349), which is how much the standard variant of the Mi 5 costs. Now, in addition to this, the rumor stated that the other three variants of the device will go head-to-head with the ZUK Z2 Pro, Le Max 2 and the Huawei Honor V8, respectively. This means that the other three OnePlus 3 variant swill be priced at around 2,499 Yuan ($380), 2,699 Yuan ($410) and 2,799 Yuan ($426), respectively. The rumor does not elaborate on the specifics when it comes to these OnePlus 3 variants, unfortunately, so we can only guess at this point. Two OnePlus 3 variants were certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), the 4GB and 6GB RAM models, but we have no idea what the other two variants represent, perhaps differences in storage space? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Now, according to info shared by TENAA, the OnePlus 3 will feature a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It’s possible, and quite probable actually, that we’ll get more internal storage variants, and today’s rumor more or less confirms that. Anyhow, the device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC, and a 3,000mAh battery will also be a part of this package, and it will not be removable. The 16-megapixel snapper will be placed on the back of the phone, and an 8-megapixel shooter will be available up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on the OnePlus 3, and on top of it, you’ll find OnePlus’ Oxygen OS (Hydrogen OS for the Chinese model).
