Last week, T-Mobile announced that their Un-carrier 11 announcement will be taking place on Monday, June 6th. Since then, many have been wondering what T-Mobile may have up their sleeves this time around. We’ve seen rumors, which include T-Mobile giving out free shares of the company to loyal customers and other freebies. Now, T-Mobile has posted another teaser ahead of Un-carrier 11, which shows John Legere getting ready for his announcement on Monday.
If you follow Legere on Periscope, then you’ll know that he’s an avid runner and fitness guy. So this short teaser video makes a whole lot of sense. It shows him in the gym getting some cardio done on the treadmill, as well as hitting the weights – with “Dumb” and “Dumber” on the ends of the dumbbells. As well as practicing his cue cards and then heading up a few steps to make his way to the stage. It’s a pretty cool little video, and one that really portrays the company’s CEO.
T-Mobile got their new CEO back in the fall of 2012. After a failed merger with AT&T, Deutsche Telekom opted to get a new CEO for T-Mobile USA, and that new person was John Legere. However, when he took the job, the industry didn’t know that he would turn into the Legere we all know today. Under Legere’s leadership, T-Mobile has started their “Un-carrier” initiative which is dedicated to addressing pain points in what Legere once called a “broken industry”. Some of these announcements have included getting rid of contracts, giving customers unlimited roaming in over 120 countries, as well as whitelisting data from music and video apps through Music Freedom and Binge On. While some of their Un-carrier moves haven’t been as popular as others, they have done one thing well. And that’s keeping the spotlight on T-Mobile, as well as changing the industry.
Un-carrier 11 is taking place on Monday in New York City, and as always it’ll be live streamed. The event kicks off at 1:45PM ET, of course we’ll have all of the coverage from the event from the moment it starts. It’s definitely going to be a good one.
