While smartphones have become important devices in many areas of life, it does seem that the camera performance is of particular importance now to users. Even more so for those who are particular interested in mobile photography. As a result many smartphone manufacturers have been putting in extra effort to make sure their devices come with the necessary hardware and additional software tweaks for better images. Chinese smartphone manufacturer Bluboo Mobile is no different as they have optimized aspects for an improved camera performance on their latest smartphone, the Picasso 4G. One good way to know what is new on this phone (in terms of camera performance) is to compare it to the previous Bluboo Picasso smartphone and recently, a set of photos taken with the Picasso 4G and Picasso have come through offering a direct comparison.
It is already confirmed that the Bluboo Picasso 4G comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. In contrast, while the previous Bluboo Picasso also came with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, it also only came with an 8-megapixel rear camera. In addition, the Picasso 4G has the ability to produce more colorful and detailed photos. This is on top of the auto-focus speed on the Picasso 4G also seeing an improvement by 20%. In terms of the actual sensors, the Picasso 4G employs a custom-made Sony sensor, while in contrast the previous Picasso made use of a Panasonic sensor. This difference guarantees lower noise and clearer quality of images.
Compared to the previous Picasso, the Bluboo Picasso 4G has also seen a number of improvements on the software side as well. So both the rear and front cameras now automatically recognize faces and are able to capture facial expressions very quickly. The front camera in particular, is able to automatically choose and apply the right beauty level to ‘beautify’ an image taken. While, the Picasso 4G is also able to shoot with a wide angle thanks to the included 35mm focus. Last but not least, it is always worth mentioning that with the included NFC, it is easy to share photos too.
For those that might be interested in picking up the Bluboo Picasso 4G and making use of its camera features, unfortunately, the release date and price have yet to be confirmed. Although, those interesting in a Bluboo device can still pick up the Bluboo Maya Max which is currently on sale for only $99.99. To put this price into perspective, when the sale ends the Bluboo Maya Max will return to its full $159.99 retail price.
