The Xiaomi Mi 5s and the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 have been leaking out for quite some time now. If the rumors are to be believed, these two devices are high-end offerings by Xiaomi, and will be introduced soon. The company had scheduled a press conference for September 27th not long ago, and judging by teasers, the Xiaomi Mi 5s will be introduced during said event. We’ve seen a couple of teasers thus far, and a new one just surfaced, read on.
If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll get to see the latest image Xiaomi shared on their official Weibo (Chinese social network) account. This image contains a specific number (164,119), which represents Xiaomi Mi 5s’ AnTuTu score, that much is quite obvious at this point. This AnTuTu score indicates that the Xiaomi Mi 5s will be fueled by the Snapdragon 821, as rumors have been indicating for a while now. This essentially means that the Xiaomi Mi 5s will join the likes of LeEco Le Pro 3 and ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe, both of which ship with the Snapdragon 821 SoC on the inside. Now, in addition to the AnTuTu score, Xiaomi has decided to tease one Mi 5s feature as well. This teaser actually contains the following question: “What new high-end technology Xiaomi _s has in addition to performance?”, which means we can expect the Mi 5s to ship with some new tech we haven’t seen on Xiaomi’s devices thus far, and we’re guessing the company is referring either to a pressure sensitive display, or Qualcomm’s SenseID ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, both features have been mentioned in recent leaks. It is possible that we’ll see both of these features included with the Xiaomi Mi 5s, who knows.
To make things even more interesting, it is worth mentioning that the 4-inch variant of the Mi 5s had been mentioned in a recent rumor / leak, which essentially means we could see Mi 5s models unveiled on September 27th. The regular Xiaomi Mi 5s variant is expected to ship with a 5.15-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, just like the Xiaomi Mi 5. This handset will pack in 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while a 16-megapixel 4-axis OIS camera had also been mentioned recently. This smartphone will be made out of metal and glass, and if rumors are to be believed, it will also include NFC, while it will support Mi Pay. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this smartphone, and you can expect to see Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 OS installed on top of it.
