Huawei is an immensely successful company, this China-based tech giant is currently the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, and by far the number one smartphone manufacturer in China. Now, their sub-brand, Honor, is also doing really well, they’ve introduced several really compelling smartphones this year, including the Honor 8 handset, their current flagship offering. That being said, the company’s Honor 5X handset is one of the best selling phones they’ve ever introduced, this handset was announced back in October last year, and the company had announced that the Honor 6X will be released on October 18th. Well, today’s the day, and the company has just announced the device.
The Honor 5X was the company’s mid-range, budget offering, and despite that, it sported a really sleek metallic shell, and a really solid set of specs. Well, we can say the same about the Honor 6X as well, though this phone looks even better than its predecessor. The Honor 6X is made out of metal, and it sports really thin side bezels, while it packs a fingerprint scanner on the back. The phone comes with two main camera sensors, a 12-megapixel one (6P lens, 1.25um pixel size, PDAF), and a 2-megapixel one. As far as the phone’s selfie shooter is concerned, Honor has decided to implement an 8-megapixel camera on the front side of this phone. The Honor 6X features a 5.5-inch fullHD 2.5D curved glass IPS display, along with 3GB / 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB / 64GB of eMMC 5.1 Internal storage (more info on that in the last paragraph). The Honor 6X is fueled by the Kirin 655 SoC, a 64-bit 16nm octa-core processor, which comes with the Mali T830-MP2 GPU. This handset also comes with a hybrid Dual SIM setup (2 x nano SIM), and a 3,340mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it comes with fast charging. The Honor 6X measures 150.9 x 72.6 x 8.2mm, while it weighs 162 grams.
The Honor 6X comes in Blue, Gray, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold color variants. Now, this phone actually comes in three different models, the 3GB RAM model ships with 32GB of storage, while the 4GB RAM variant is available in both 32GB and 64GB storage flavors. These three models are priced at 999 Yuan ($148), 1,299 Yuan ($193) and 1,599 Yuan ($237), respectively.
