Samsung's High-End Flip Phone Gets Certified By The FCC

Samsung is one of the few smartphone manufacturing companies that are still interested in manufacturing flip phones. Flip phones were extremely popular back in the day, but ever since smartphones came to the scene, flip phones are almost extinct, well, there are still some flip phone cellphones out there, but not many companies manufacture flip phone smartphones. Well, Samsung had released the Galaxy Folder 2 flip phone smartphone quite recently, an entry-level device, and their high-end ‘Veyron’ smartphone (SM-W2017) has been leaking out for months now, read on.

This smartphone had surfaced on Geekbench, GFXBench and AnTuTu, and we’ve seen a ton of its leaked images, so we basically know what will the phone look like, and we also have its partial spec sheet thanks to aforementioned benchmarking sites. That being said, it seems like the device has been certified by the FCC as well. The certification listing reveals that the phone will sport a 2,300mAH battery. Now, for those of you who are interested, you’ll be glad to know that Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 will also be included here, and considering how small this battery pack is, you’ll be able to charge it in no time. This listing doesn’t exactly confirm that the device will come to the US, though it definitely gives us some hope it will. Chances are, however, that this phone will launch in either South Korea or China first.

That being said, the Samsung ‘Veyron’ will sport a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor, along with the Adreno 530 GPU. The 12-megapixel snapper will be placed on its back (quite probably the same sensor that Samsung used in the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and Note 7), while you’ll get a 5-megapixel shooter up front. The Type-C USB port will be placed on the bottom of this phone, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this device, along with Samsung’s custom UI. That is more or less everything we know thus far, Samsung is expected to introduce this phone soon, so stay tuned for that.
