There’s been quite a bit of exciting news this past week in the world of Android, much of it relating to Google’s upcoming event on October 4th, which is this Tuesday. More alleged renders of the Pixel XL had surfaced online this past week, as did a new video which showcased a 3D render of the device from all angles. Alongside the leaked renders of the Pixel XL, another set of rumors revolving around something different from Google popped up. Andromeda, which is said to be a new OS from the company that is in the works, had a handful of rumored details revealed which may point to what Google’s plans are for the software, although these are just rumors.
It was confirmed this past week that Android Wear 2.0 would be delayed until early 2017, but in addition to confirming this pushback, Google also released Android Wear 2.0 Developer Preview 3 which is available for download and installation for those who are interested in checking out the latest build of the software. Details of what the new Dev Preview 3 included were also made public once users had a chance to install it. Google revealed a new central company blog this past week called The Keyword, and it’s rumored that the next smartwatch from Huawei won’t come running on Android Wear, but instead will be powered by Tizen software. A leak was also revealed for a third-generation of the Chromecast, called the Chromecast Ultra, which is said to support 4K content.
