The Huawei Mate 9’s announcement is right around the corner. We’ve been seeing an increased amount of the Mate 9 rumors recently, including quite a few leaks of the device itself, like the one that surfaced this morning. Now, judging by those leaks, the Huawei Mate 9 will resemble its predecessor quite a bit, though it is possible Huawei is planning to release a ‘Pro’ variant as well, a variant of the device which will sport a curved display. The company had also released a couple of teasers already, touting a great battery life on the Huawei Mate 9, and also a really powerful camera(s).
Well, the company has just released yet another teaser for the Huawei Mate 9, though this time around it was published by EMUI (@HuaweiEMUI) on Twitter, which is Huawei’s official Twitter handle for their Emotion UI (EMUI) Android skin. The company says that Emotion UI (EMUI) 5 is on its way, that it will be introduced soon, which suggests that the Huawei Mate 9 will ship with EMUI 5.0 out of the box, and that more or less confirms that we’ll see Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed on the Huawei Mate 9. Emotion UI 4.0 was based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, so it makes all the sense in the world that the next big iteration of the UI will be based on Android 7.0 Nougat.
A number of rumors said that Android 7.0 Nougat is coming on Huawei’s devices, and it seems like the Huawei Mate 9 will be the first in line to show off the all-new version of Huawei’s skin. Huawei teases EMUI 5.0 with the following caption: “Faster, more beautiful. Our biggest evolution yet.”, can we expect to see a more significant change this time around? Emotion UI is loved by some, hated by others, but it is definitely a step away from stock Android, though Huawei might opt to change that, at least to a degree. The Huawei Mate 9 is expected to sport a 5.9-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, 6GB of RAM and a couple of internal storage options. The device will be fueled by the Kirin 960 64-bit octa-core processor, and you can expect to see a fingerprint scanner on the back of this phablet. The device is going to be announced on November 3rd, so stay tuned.
