The JauntVR App Gains Support For The Daydream Platform

Google’s Daydream platform, and in turn the Daydream View headset, have been gaining bits and pieces of content since the headset was made available to consumers for purchase, and today users will be able to add the JauntVR application to that list. JauntVR, which is an app that is also available for other platforms such as regular desktop browsers, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Gear VR, Android, iOS, and eventually PlayStation VR, offers up a collection of cinematic experiences to the user including content from ESPN Gameday, musical content, and even news content from the likes of ABC NewsVR.

The app boasts a wide range of content types that include film and travel, but also music and sports, with a total of 150 plus experiences in all to enjoy in an immersive setting. The app is also free to download and is expected to have more content added to it, making it even more of a value to have installed on your device if you enjoy exploring the world of VR with the use of your smartphone. If you’re planning on using JauntVR with the Daydream View, right now that means you’re limited to using it with the Google Pixel, Pixel XL, and the Moto Z lineup, although more Daydream phones are to be launched in the future so there will be more support from the app in due time.

With loads of experiences available at your fingertips, JauntVR makes for an interesting offering among the continually growing list of apps that work with Daydream, and it joins other apps which were just launched this week for the same platform, including HBO GO, as well as a new game called LEGO Brickheadz, both of which are available now for installation as well. The Daydream support for JauntVR also makes for perfect timing for anyone who has yet to grab a Daydream View headset, as the Snow and Crimson color variations are now available for pre-order, where as before you could only purchase the Slate color. The JauntVR app makes use of the Daydream controller so as not to require too much movement from the user, as the goal is to relax and enjoy the content that they’re experiencing.
