Huawei is currently the top smartphone manufacturer in China, and it is the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. However, the Chinese company isn’t satisfied with its position in the global smartphone market yet and has plans to overthrow the likes of Apple and Samsung in the coming years, to clinch the top spot in the market. Huawei has already crossed the 100 million mark in terms of number of smartphones sold in 2016 and of course that wouldn’t have been possible if they weren’t producing compelling smartphones.
With that, Huawei is set to launch its upcoming flagship smartphone of 2017, in a few months time, and it happens to be the successor to the Huawei P9, and it is set to come in the form of the Huawei P10. The upcoming handset has been leaked quite extensively over the past few weeks and according to the renders, the Huawei P10 will be packing many new features, which its predecessor lacked. Just a few weeks back, it was reported that the Huawei P10 will pack a curved dual-edge display and a fingerprint scanner on its front, while the Huawei P9 featured a fingerprint scanner on its rear. This time around, it has been confirmed by a user on Weibo, a popular Chinese microblogging website that the upcoming flagship device will indeed come with a dual-edge display and a front fingerprint scanner. However, a new inclusion is wireless charging, which wasn’t mentioned in the previous set of leaks.
Past leaks have also pointed out that the Huawei P10 will reportedly come with a 5.5-inch QHD display, while it will pack a Huawei Kirin 960 chipset under its hood. Storage wise, the device is rumored to sport 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage which will be expandable via a microSD card slot on the device. Huawei is also expected to continue its collaboration with Leica to produce the cameras for the upcoming device. It has also been rumored that Huawei will launch two versions of the Huawei P10, with the difference being more than the size of the displays. However, it is best to take these leaks and rumors with a pinch of salt until Huawei confirms the device.
