An image of the HTC Desire 650 for Cricket Wireless, has surfaced online. This comes after famous leaker, Evan Blass, posted an image of the HTC Desire 650 on Twitter, sporting the branding of Cricket Wireless on its rear, just below the HTC logo. The device in the image can also be seen running on the Cricket network, and the device appears to be the black colored variant of the HTC Desire 650.
The HTC Desire 650 is set for a global release this month, meaning it might also be available from Cricket Wireless soon after the global launch. The smartphone happens to be a budget device from the Taiwanese firm and was first launched in its home country, a few months back. In terms of specs, it sports a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720. Under the hood, the HTC Desire 650 runs on a quad-core processor from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 series. Memory wise, it packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD card slot. For optics, the HTC Desire 650 sports a 13MP f/2.2 camera on its rear which comes equipped with LED flash and autofocus. The front facing camera on the other hand is a 5MP f/2.8 shooter for selfies and it comes with 1080p video recording capabilities. The device comes with a small 2,200 mAh battery which is non-removable and it can be charged via the micro-USB port located on the device.
While the HTC Desire 650 is a budget device, it does come with BoomSound audio, which used to be found on the company’s flagship devices. The device also comes with support for Hi-Res Audio playback. Connectivity wise, it supports 4G LTE, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth and it also comes with NFC, allowing users to make contactless payments with their device. For software, the HTC Desire 650 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and not Android 7.0 Nougat. One of the main features of the smartphone is the new design from HTC, which is a “double back” rear design. In other words, half of the device consists of plain rubber, while the bottom half receives a portion with a ribbed texture for better grip. The international price for the device has not been announced yet, but it shouldn’t be too long before the global launch of this device takes place.
