Verizon Exclusive Wear24 is An Android Wear 2.0 Smartwatch

Along with announcing the LG Watch Sport coming to Verizon’s network, the carrier also unveiled a second Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch in the Wear24. There’s not a whole lot of information known about it just yet, but it is exclusive to Verizon and will be coming to their network next month for $299, which is a bit cheaper than the LG Watch Sport which has a retail price of $379 at Verizon.

The Wear24 smartwatch does include 4G LTE connectivity and is water resistant. Verizon says that it can withstand being submerged in up to 3.3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. It also comes with a slew of watch faces, which is something that most smartwatches do these days, as a way to differentiate themselves from the competition. Some of the watch faces that are included can be set to change the information that it displays, based on where you are. Things like weather and such, or giving you a modern look for when you are at the office, and a more social look when you are at home.

Android Wear 2.0 is the biggest update to Android Wear, ever. It brings in a completely new interface, as well as plenty of new features. One of those features includes Android Pay. Allowing users to go ahead and checkout of their favorite grocery store, restaurant or really any retailer that supports Android Pay, much easier and faster. Just tap their watch and they are good to go. Android Wear 2.0 also brings support for 4G LTE connectivity, allowing users to essentially leave their smartwatch at home.

The Wear24 will be available next month, although Verizon hasn’t given a specific release date just yet. It’ll be available for $299 and you can add it to your existing account for $10/month (that’s the device access fee for wearables and connected devices). If you aren’t a Verizon customer, you can get a 1GB plan for just the Wear24 smartwatch for as little as $10/month, before taxes and fees. Of course, the Wear24 is compatible with any device that works with Android Wear, which includes Android and iOS smartphones, all of which are available at Verizon as well.
