It was announced yesterday that the Galaxy Tab S3 would be going up for pre-order today, and Samsung even outed the pricing, at least for the US. The Galaxy Tab S3 is going to cost you $599, and there is only one model this time around, so it’s just a flat price for the tablet. Samsung is also offering a free 64GB micro SD card with the purchase of the Galaxy Tab S3, for a limited time only. The Pogo keyboard will be an additional $129, if you choose to pick that up. The Galaxy Tab S3 is available in both black and silver, and both models come with the redesigned S Pen, which does not fit inside the tablet, so it may be a bit tough to keep track of.
The Galaxy Tab S3 sports a 9.7-inch 4:3 aspect ratio display. That is a HDR AMOLED display, which immediately tells you that it is definitely a good piece of hardware for consuming media. It joins the LG G6 as the only Android devices that are capable of HDR content. Inside is a Snapdragon 820 processor – other markets will see an Exynos processor – along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Samsung is only offering the Galaxy Tab S3 with 32GB of storage, but luckily you do get a micro SD card slot for expanding that storage. There is a 6000mAh battery inside, that is non-removable, and will keep the Galaxy Tab S3 running all day long.
With the Galaxy Tab S3, Samsung sought to fuse productivity along with multimedia, adding in the S Pen but also adding HDR support for content. And they appear to have done a great job. Samsung brought over a lot of the features from the Galaxy Note 7, that included the S Pen, which included things like screen-off memo for taking notes with turning the screen on. And in addition to the display supporting HDR, Samsung also has quad-speakers included here, which have been tuned by AKG. Allowing for some pretty incredible audio from the Galaxy Tab S3. And when it comes to tablets, you don’t typically think about the audio quality its putting out.
Samsung has the Galaxy Tab S3 available on their own online store at Samsung.com, but it is also available for pre-order over on Amazon. The Galaxy Tab S3 is set to begin shipping on March 24th, next Friday.
